Privacy Policy
Last updated: 30 June 2026
receipt.love is an AI-powered receipt-processing and bookkeeping service. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use and share it, and the rights you have. It is written to comply with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Who we are (data controller)
receipt.love is operated by
Zenta AB (org. no.
556835-6850),
Oxtorget 4, 352 32 Växjö, Sweden. For any privacy matter, contact us at
support@receipt.love.
2. Information we collect
- Account data: your name, email address and profile image, obtained when you sign in with Google or an email magic link.
- Receipts and files: the receipt images and PDFs you upload, email in, or import, and the data we extract from them (vendor, amounts, VAT, dates, line items, order numbers).
- Email ingestion: if you forward receipts or connect a mailbox, the relevant emails and their attachments.
- Accounting data: classifications, account codes, your rules, and any bank statements you upload for reconciliation.
- Usage and audit data: processing history, who approved a receipt, and technical logs needed to run and secure the service.
- Billing data: handled by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers.
3. How we use your data
To extract and classify receipts, apply your rules, generate expense reports, export vouchers to your accounting system, reconcile bank statements, provide and secure the service, handle billing, and respond to support requests.
4. Legal bases (GDPR)
We process data to perform our contract with you (providing the service), based on our legitimate interests (security and improving the service), with your consent where required (e.g. connecting a mailbox), and to meet legal obligations (e.g. bookkeeping records).
5. AI processing
Receipts are analysed by third-party AI APIs — Google Gemini by default, and optionally OpenAI or Anthropic. Under these providers' standard API terms, data submitted via their APIs is not used to train their models. AI output can contain errors, so you remain responsible for reviewing receipts before relying on them.
6. Sharing and subprocessors
We do not sell your data. We share it only with the providers needed to run the service:
- Microsoft Azure — hosting, database and file storage (EU).
- Google, OpenAI, Anthropic — AI processing of receipt content.
- Stripe — subscription billing.
- Resend — transactional email (sign-in links, invites).
- Fortnox / Findity — accounting export, only when you connect them.
- Microsoft 365 — mailbox access, only when you connect it.
7. Where your data is stored
Your account data, receipts and files are stored in the EU (Microsoft Azure, Sweden). When data is processed by AI or other subprocessors, any transfer is governed by their data-processing agreements and, where applicable, EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
8. Retention
We keep your data while your account is active and for as long as needed to provide the service or to meet legal obligations (such as statutory bookkeeping retention). You can request deletion at any time, subject to those obligations.
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256). File storage is private and served only through an authenticated proxy. Access is restricted to you and the members you invite to your workspace.
10. Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority — in Sweden, the Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY). To exercise any right, contact
support@receipt.love.
11. Cookies
We use only essential cookies required for authentication and keeping you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
12. Children
receipt.love is a business tool and is not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
